Up from the Ashes

This study is designed to help individuals quit smoking. Researchers will provide participants with education and carefully monitor progress throughout the study.Participants will engage in using a carbon monoxide (CO) monitor while playing the game, that the researchers will provide, to record CO levels throughout the 7-week intervention. There are multiple quests that participants will only be able to complete by earning rewards depending on video recording smoking abstinence. Using social and group contingencies, participants can work together to gain resources and rewards by remaining abstinent from smoking also. Failure to submit videos will result in lack of game-based rewards and resources to help the player advance their game.

What you'll need is a computer or laptop that has Internet connection, nationwide in order to participate in the game, a video camera to submit video recordings of blowing into a carbon monoxide monitor each day. And a carbon monoxide machine which will be provide to you. With this device you will blow into it and I measure the amount of carbon monoxide was inhaled from your most recent smoking activity.
